Important Reminder You are
on the new band website!! Welcome!! If you have any digital pictures or other files that can easily fit onto the site,
please send them to website@prideofthevikings.org. All submissions will be reviewed and then placed on the website. Thanks. If you plan on spending the night of November 20th in the Disneyland area or driving your child to and from
events during this busy weekend, an official blue release form must be signed and approved by the principal several days before
the event. If you have any questions about this process, please call me. Yay! Daniel J. Magallanes Marching Band Director
Colorguard News A fund raising opportunity was approved at the October booster meeting. This
one-day event, planned for March 19, 2005 is a flag/dance competition and the help of both flag and band will be needed in
13 different job categories. The profit from this event should grow each year and it will be a learning experience for a future
band Field Show hosted by VHS.
Help Wanted For the November 13th Oxnard Field Show we still need helpers to hand out a snack to
our hungry marchers. Contact Dana Hill at 661-297-7647.
Note of Gratitude
A round of applause to everyone that helped at Etiwanda. The equipment crew
was really appreciated by Kim and the lunch crew was appreciated by our hungry performers.

Money Matters A reminder that Band and Colorguard fees are due monthly and need to be paid in full by December 31st. Also,
the third payment on the Hawaii trip of $175.00 is due on November 15th. These payments are accepted in either
check form or by participating in any of the various fund raising opportunities. When making payments please make sure your
student’s name is on the check. Also, please indicate whether it is for fees or the trip. All fund raising will be applied
to fees first and the trip second unless you notify me differently. Terri Wiesmann, Treasurer, 257-4189
Music in the Parks Our major fund raiser of the year is by providing our school facilities for
competing bands and choirs throughout the USA. Music in the Parks (MIP) is an organization that coordinates this event and
we earn money by acting as a host school for this six day, over three weekends, event. VHS has proven itself an outstanding
host in past festivals. We need a VHS coordinator for this year’s festival. It can be one person OR several people broken
down into various jobs. Here are some of the job areas you could oversee: Greeter/Check-In, Dispatcher, Registration, Warm-up
Room Monitors, Announcers, Venue Set-Up, Sound Coordinator or Concessions. Please call Dana Hill for more information and
to volunteer. 297-7647
Looking Sharp There are a few black Band and Colorguard T-shirts, sizes small and medium, available for sale at $5.00. Some of the
print is the wrong color so considered defective, but in perfect condition. Call Terri Wiesmann, 257-4189.
